On April 8th at the new Banana Republic Soho Flagship store (552-554 Broadway at Prince street) they’re having a private Thank You Event Launch Party. It’s not that private though, since all you need for entrance is either the invitation or a Banana Republic card, so if you got one of those, you’re in!

I wouldn’t say that I’m a fan per se of Kim Kardashian, I’ve never watched the show she’s on… but I do really like this outfit! And I think it’s an outfit nearly anyone can wear and look great in. So classic – a white tee, boyfriend jacket and torn up jeans – and for adding a twist to the classic – the lace up Christian Louboutin sandals.
The particular sandals she’s wearing are sold out. If you want to stay with Louboutins, these have a similar look: Christian Louboutin Pique 140 Sandals, $995
Another option are these Tory Burch Roslun Lace Up Sandals, $425. The lace up style is more similar to the ones Kim is wearing – and they’re half the price!
For the jacket, the key is to get one with nice lining inside the sleeves so you can roll them up for a more casual look. J. Crew has an option that’s even on sale right now. Boyfriend Blazer, regular price $215, sale $175.
For the denim, of course there are tons of choices, the best is probably already in your closet. But if you don’ t have any torn jeans yet, here are a couple of good options.
J. Crew Vintage Slim Jeans, regular price $98, sale $78.
I also love AG brand for distressed jeans. I definitely recommend trying them on a store though, the sizing across the different cuts can be quite different. Here’s an option Tomboy Boyfriend-Fit Jeans in 25 year destroyed wash, $305.
The tee is the easiest part. Again, you probably have several in your closet already. Hers has a somewhat low scoop neck. A Petit Bateau Light Fine Rib Tank, $39 or Spendid ($40) or James Perse ($45) tank would work well too.

Register now to be able to participate in theOutnet.com’s anniversary sale. On April 16th, everything in the sale is just $1! I don’t know… it sounds too good to be true. Perhaps they only have one of each $1 item? Anyway, it’s worth marking on your calendar!

Caudalie is offering their Friends and Family discount to everyone! Hurry though, the offer ends today. 20% off, use code BFF at checkout. Also, orders over $50 get free shipping and all orders get free samples. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Caudalie, it was created by the owners of Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte in Bordeaux focusing on using the beneficial grape seed polyphenols from their grapes in skin care products. They have a fabulous spa at the Chateau that makes visiting even better (as if the wine tasting wasn’t great enough…)
These are my favorites from Caudalie:
Gentle Cleanser, $26 (with discount $20.80). This is a velvety cleanser that smells wonderful and doesn’t leave your skin feeling stripped.
Beauty Elixir, $46 (with discount $36.80). They say this is inspired by Queen Isabella of Hungary’s “Elixir of Youth”. It basically looks like water with some essential oils floating on top, you shake it and spray it on your face. It is the most refreshing feeling and I love the smell.
Eye and Lip Cream, $49 (with discount $39.20). You can easily spend a small fortune on eye creams these days. I like this one because it’ s reasonably priced but works and is loaded with great natural ingredients.
Pulpe Vitaminée 1st Wrinkle Cream, $58 (with discount $46.40). I mix up my routine sometimes by using this instead of my old faithful Peter Thomas Roth Glycolic Acid Moisturizer. Like most Caudalie products, it smells so good – - and contains great things like royal jelly, ginseng and ginger.
Vinoperfect Night Correcting Cream, $68 (with discount 54.40). This is to help fade discolorations (you know, those dreaded “dark spots” a particular menace to the very fair skinned). I can’t say that it really makes them disappear, but I wake up with great looking skin (perhaps a bit more even), so I like it!

I guess I’m a bit behind here, but I’ve not been that familiar with Vanessa Bruno. She’s a French designer. She does two collections: Vanessa Bruno (more expensive) and Vanessa Bruno Athé. In all fairness, her distribution is not as mainstream as many brands. You can find her at Stylebop, Net-a-porter, Yoox… She has boutiques in Australia, France, Japan, Kuwait, South Korea and Taiwan. She has a pretty cool video on her website right now featuring the perhaps a bit jolie laide, yet compelling Lou Doillon.
I love these two dresses:
From Net-a-porter: Jersey Lace Trim Dress, $210. Sadly this is sold out now in the smaller sizes.
From Stylebop: Belted Jersey Dress, $325.

The April J. Crew catalog is out, and it’s very Springy. Since things are rather gray and the weather can’t decide if it wants to be warm or cold or rainy, so it’s nice to see some Spring inspiration. Wow, this photography is just beautiful..
Here are Jenna’s latest picks (view in detail here):
Yikes, I’m not sure about that bright melon color… (as a real New Yorker it’s really hard to get me away from black, gray, white and denim)
On page 10, these sandals look pretty cool although I wouldn’t call them “sky high”. Ares Platform Heels, $225 in metallic leather or $215 in regular. They have a 3-1/8″ stacked heel with a 1/2 inch platform. Oooh, and they’re made in Italy. (shoes should be made in Italy, you know?)
I also like how they styled the shoot with giant flowers, here’s a few of them:

We love Fresh’s Citron de Vigne fragrance and were so happy when they came out with the matching soap and candle – well… now they have released the bath gel and lotion! Yay!
Here’s how they describe the scent: The sun-drenched days, earthy vines, and sparkling wines of France’s Champagne region were the inspiration for the notes in this intoxicating, effervescent scent. An innovative heart note of a pinot noir accord—comprised of bergamot, dark almond, musk, white sandalwood, and rose—is combined with bubbling citrus top notes and an earthy base, resulting in a crisp and sensual blend ideal for both men and women.
You can get a FREE Citron de Vigne 14 oz. oval soap when you make an online purchase of $100 or more, using code OVALSOAP at checkout. The offer is good until March 26th!

Lace has been popular with the designers over the last couple of years. Remember Prada’s gorgeous lace for Fall ‘08?
Here’s Charlize wearing one of Prada’s lace dresses, Aug. ‘08.

Well, it’s still going strong. Kelly Ripa recently wore Stella McCartney’s beautiful lace dress to a Letterman appearance. (Stella herself wore the jumpsuit version ($4,815) in black to the Met’s Costume Institute Ball last year)
Here’s the beautiful dress similar to Kelly’s at Net-a-porter. ($1,825)
Here’s a Philip Lim take on the same idea. ($750)Okay, so it’s not nearly as detailed or quite as beautiful as the other examples, but Zara has a little lace dress for only $59.50!

I’m not really a St. Patrick’s Day person (sorry, no green beer for me, no beer at all for that matter!) … but it does make you think about green things… like EMERALDS! Remember Angelina’s amazing (and huge) emerald earrings at the Oscars last year? Wow! But they must have hurt her ears, you can’t wear earrings that heavy for too long…

Here are some from Blue Nile with diamonds that us mere mortals have a chance of being able to afford: Pear-Shaped Emerald and Diamond Drop Earrings, $1,210.
These are pretty small though, they are just under a 1/2 an inch tall… but still very pretty and elegant!
