Gap has been heavily advertising a new selection of jeans in August magazines featuring models Sasha Pivovarova, Isabeli Fontana, Constance Jablonski, Shu-Pei, Jasmine Tooks and Anja Rubik (shown below) in a “Born To Fit – America’s Best Fitting Premium Jeans” campaign. The jeans look pretty good! But how couldn’t they, I suppose, with those models!
She is wearing the Zip Crop Always Skinny Jean. These seem to be sold out online right now, but a similar jean with cool zip pockets is still available for $69.50. (Always Skinny Zipper Pocket Jeans)
They’re also featuring a lot of legging jeans, aka jeggings! Yikes, I guess this was bound to happen. I’ve never tried these on, so I won’t comment yet. Here’s what they say about them: “Meet our new denim leggings. They’re super skinny, supersoft, and have the perfect dose of stretch for an incredibly smooth finish”. This pair (below) is the Legging Jean in Faded Dark Wash, $69.50. I guess they don’t look that much different than your standard fitted skinny jeans, I assume they have more stretch in them…
Anyway, here’s the scoop on the new jeans:
- redesigned to fit true to size similar to standard designer jeans
- premium stretch denim jeans retains its shape
- the water used in the process of washing and dyeing these jeans has been specially treated to ensure it is safe and clean when it leaves the factory -

Everybody wants their skin to look flawless, right? But it’s not that easy… with uneven skin tone, scars, rosacea etc. it can take a little bit more work. Primers are the perfect helper!
Napoleon Perdis’ Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer leaves skin perfectly prepped for makeup that glides on and lasts longer, ensuring a gorgeous finish. AND, it’s good for your skin too! It is formulated with anti-free radical chamomile, yarrow and vitamin E, so it helps prevent premature skin aging while moisturizing and strengthening for an overall improvement in appearance and health. It sells for $39 for 1.7 fl. oz.
Another great primer is Tarte’s Clean Slate. It smoothes and softens the skin, preparing it for flawless makeup application. It is a silicon-based formula that moisturizes with avocado oil and soothing tiredness, irritation and sallow skin with echinacea, rosemary and hibiscus oils. It is $30 for 1.16 fl. oz.

This fabulous Chanel nail color “Particuliere” is back in stock. It’ is a dark taupe shade with a dash of mauve tone in it. I got this color a couple of months ago, I got one of the last bottles (at the time) at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street. I love it on my toenails (since I have very fair skin I prefer really light colors on my fingernails). It’s $23 at Chanel.com, you can purchase it here. Sure, $23 is a lot for a nail polish, but the bottle is so elegant and Chanel colors are always the best so it’s a good splurge, n’ est pas?
Courteney Cox is wearing this color nail polish in her InStyle magazine photo shoot for August 2010.

Liv Tyler recently wore Givenchy’s striking striped jacket at an event at LA’s Museum of Contemporary Art. A very similar jacket, and much less expensive one, is available at Anthropologie!
Here’s the jacket on the Givenchy runway. Givenchy Ottoman Stitch Stripe Jacket. It sold for $1,270, and seems to be sold out now.
Anthropologie’s version does not have the shoulder pads, which many of us may prefer anyway. (Sorry, I’m still not ready for shoulder pads yet, I unfortunately still remember the ’80s!)
Hello Sunday Blazer, $98 at Anthropologie.

Do you ever watch What Not To Wear and feel jealous of the great makeovers they get? (not to mention the $ they get for shopping!) Well I do! So it was nice to hear that Sephora is now offering makeovers (free with $50 product purchase).
However, I would be quite frightened if I ended up looking like the woman above!

Lemon zest, jasmine, crushed mint leaves, brown sugar? Yum, but it’s not edible, it’s Georgio Armani’s new scent Acqua di Gioia.
This was slated to be released in June, but we’re still waiting… hopefully it will be out soon!
Here’s the full description: “There is a charming sense of jubilation from the very first vegetal notes which are carried along in a deliciously heady current of crushed Mint, with a zest of Italian Limone Primo Fiore Femminelle, harvested from the first spring blossoms in Calabria.
This emotion transforms into an aquatic renaissance with a delicate and crystalline nature derived from the scent of Water Jasmine, giving the perfume sophisticated and unexpected facets. At its base, ACQUA DI GIOIA bears the signature of water rooted in the Earth, revealed by luscious Cedar sprinkled with sensuous Brown Sugar and Labdanum, which is one the rare plants to possess animal notes.”The name is rather confusingly similar the existing Armani fragrance: Acqua di Gio (fresh notes of melon and pear with an armful of hyacinth, jasmine, rose and lily).
