Bloomingdale’s is having a big sale this weekend. Select items are up to half off.
There’s still plenty of time this Summer for flip flops, so how about these Diane Von Furstenberg rubber/leather flip flops? They’re usually $65 and now only $32.50, half off!
This Juicy Couture lady lock bag is on its second markdown, so it’s actually way below half price! The original price was $228, first markdown $171, and now it’s only $85.50. What a steal. It’s a great smaller size for evening, or other times when you just want a smaller bag to carry. It is 10.5″ wide by 7″ high.
These Current/Elliott denim leggings with side zippers are down to $138.60 from $231. With trendy items like this it’s good to get them on sale because you don’t know for sure if you’ll want to wear them next year. The side zippers are such a throw back for me… because I had some jeans like that in junior high school!

J. Crew’s August catalog is featuring a gorgeous photo shoot in the Arizona desert and rock canyons. This photo below with the fabulous Minnie pant in wool was photographed in the Antelope Canyon.
They’ve updated the Minnie pant for Fall with a 2-way stretch wool/lycra fabric. They’re $98 and come in 5 colors: cobblestone, henna, black, heathered charcoal and parsley.
Also of note is that they’ve finally done heels over 4″ high! Yay! J. Crew, in the past, has tended to stick with lower heels generally between 3 and 4″, which is just not high enough for some of us heel lovers! Below is the Coddington Suede Platform Pump, $228. It has a 4-1/8″ heel with a 3/4″ platform. They are made in Italy too!

Remember Chanel’s barnyard Spring Runway show for ready-to-wear, where the models clomped down the hay strewn runway in clogs?
Chanel Clogs: (prices $1200+, not sold online)
Well, if you happen to be getting used to the idea of wearing clogs, Coach has come out with a similar, affordable clog (New Rana Clog, $188).
In brown suede:

Ballet flats have become an everyday basic for nearly everyone. Even high heel lovers probably all have at least one pair! Here are some nice options in classic black:
Vera Wang Lavender ‘Lillian’ Black Ballet Flat, $195. This is about as classic as it comes, perfect round toe and smooth leather.
Tory Burch ‘Reva’ Black Sequin Ballet Flat, $235. A dressy look with sequins.
French Sole ‘Season’ Black Nappa Ballet Flat, $125. I love the leather flower on the toe!

Ann Taylor seems to be having a great year, their stock is up over 50% this year and their product line seems a lot more appealing in general. They’ve got a bunch of new arrivals on their site, here.
I like the super high Vivian Double Strap Platform Sandals, $158. The heel is 4-3/4″ with a 1/2″ platform.
I also like the new lightweight scarves. This one, the Iconic Animal Print Sheer Scarf, $58 is made with a blend of silk, wool and cashmere.
Also, they’re offering an extra 40% off all sales items through Monday! View the sale items here. Use code SALE40 at checkout.

In Gossip Girl’s Season Three season finale, Georgina is seen sporting some tall leopard print Louboutins…
Image: tvfanatic.comThese, at Neiman Marcus, seem to be the most similar that are available right now: Christian Louboutin Leopard Print Patent Hidden Platform Pump, $795.
You can get a similar look with Dolce Vita’s Trinity Pumps. They’re normally $198, but are on sale at Lord & Taylor for $137.99, plus they’re offering an extra 20% off sale items with code: BIG. That puts them at a mere $110.39! They are made with leopard print calf hair leather with 4-1/4 inch heels with hidden platforms. They even feature the almond shaped toe that Christian Louboutin often uses.

Gosh, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen espadrilles! I think my Mom had a pair with a wedge heel when I was little. Well everything comes back around eventually. Tory Burch is showing some in her Spring Collection.
Striped Flower Espadrille, $150
FYI – here is the history of espadrilles from Wikipedia: The term espadrille is French and derives from the Catalan name for the shoes, espardenya, which derives from espart, the Catalan name for esparto, a tough, wiry Mediterranean grass used in making rope. Espadrilles have been made in Catalonia since the 14th century at least, and there are Catalan shops still in existence that have been making espadrilles for over a century. Traditional espadrilles have a canvas upper with the toe and vamp cut in one piece, and seamed to the rope sole at the sides. Often they would have laces at the throat that would be wrapped around the ankle to hold the shoes securely in place. Early espadrilles were worn by both men and women.

The May J. Crew catalog is out. It was shot at a beautiful beach and features the typical quirky J. Crew styling… like who really wears sequins and a poufy hat to the beach?
I do like the sequin tank though (Sequin Drizzle Tank, $148). They also have a less expensive version (Sequin Tissue Tank, $74)
Here are a few other picks:
Linen Military Blazer, $98. I love linen’s slouchy casual look, it’s perfect for Summer.
Suckered Gingham Shirt, $69.50. This is done in a soft cotton and come perfectly rumpled.
Tailored Linen Maybelle Jacket, $158. I like the idea of a jacket with no collar. I think you could wear this with a lot of things – even just jeans and a tank top.
Also of note are their shoes. They seem to be going a bit more trendy. Like these (right to left): Bridgeford Lace-Up Platform Heels ($228), Agnyss Platform Heels ($250), Demetra Heels ($198), and Suede Averill Midheel Sandals ($238).

I’m not much into ballet flats personally. I have no use for flats aesthetically, but they are practical. The ballet flat craze is… well, crazy! I much prefer the look of the ballet slipper on heels! I’ve found a few!
Christian Louboutin Georgineta, $795.
Christian Louboutin Lolo, $795.
Marc by Marc Jacobs, Bow Hidden Platform Pumps, $350
In the lower price points, I am not finding exactly the right thing…
These are close, and very inexpensive!
Tahari Ta-Desiree Pump, $44. The heel is too low though… (only 3″). But they definitely have the ballet slipper look.
These are even less expensive, but they have the peep toe…
Charlotte Russe Bowtie Pumps, $24.50

Don’t you love it when you pull something out of your closet that’s a few years old and it’s just as brilliant now as it was then?
Today I’m wearing my Chloe boots from Fall ‘06. I love them but for some reason don’t wear them very often, so it feels like a treat. (silly, I know…)
So what have you rediscovered in your closet lately?
Oh, and speaking of Chloe, check out their latest here.
