Lately we’ve been seeing a lot of plaid shirts around – on people and at retail. It’s kind of unexpected – you know, plaid seems very L.L. Bean or farmer… but somehow it’s making a very cool comeback with the fashionable.
Charlize is wearing hers with skinny black jeans and some fabulous heels:
Lauren is also wearing skinny jeans, some platform heels, a giant bag and a gorgeous David Yurman ring:
Chances are you have a few pairs of skinny jeans and plenty of cool shoes, so all you need to get the look is a plaid shirt!
Here are a few of good options:
Banana Republic 3/4 Sleeve Boyfriend Shirt, $59.50.
Vince Supersoft Plaid Shirt, $245 at Bloomingdale’s
J. Crew Sconset Plaid Shirt, $69.50

Don’t you love it when you pull something out of your closet that’s a few years old and it’s just as brilliant now as it was then?
Today I’m wearing my Chloe boots from Fall ‘06. I love them but for some reason don’t wear them very often, so it feels like a treat. (silly, I know…)
So what have you rediscovered in your closet lately?
Oh, and speaking of Chloe, check out their latest here.

I wouldn’t say that I’m a fan per se of Kim Kardashian, I’ve never watched the show she’s on… but I do really like this outfit! And I think it’s an outfit nearly anyone can wear and look great in. So classic – a white tee, boyfriend jacket and torn up jeans – and for adding a twist to the classic – the lace up Christian Louboutin sandals.
The particular sandals she’s wearing are sold out. If you want to stay with Louboutins, these have a similar look: Christian Louboutin Pique 140 Sandals, $995
Another option are these Tory Burch Roslun Lace Up Sandals, $425. The lace up style is more similar to the ones Kim is wearing – and they’re half the price!
For the jacket, the key is to get one with nice lining inside the sleeves so you can roll them up for a more casual look. J. Crew has an option that’s even on sale right now. Boyfriend Blazer, regular price $215, sale $175.
For the denim, of course there are tons of choices, the best is probably already in your closet. But if you don’ t have any torn jeans yet, here are a couple of good options.
J. Crew Vintage Slim Jeans, regular price $98, sale $78.
I also love AG brand for distressed jeans. I definitely recommend trying them on a store though, the sizing across the different cuts can be quite different. Here’s an option Tomboy Boyfriend-Fit Jeans in 25 year destroyed wash, $305.
The tee is the easiest part. Again, you probably have several in your closet already. Hers has a somewhat low scoop neck. A Petit Bateau Light Fine Rib Tank, $39 or Spendid ($40) or James Perse ($45) tank would work well too.
