Undoubtedly the September issues of the fashion magazines are the most thrilling of the year. Here are some tips from Allure who featured Kim Kardashian on their cover.
In the beauty reporter (pg. 76) they feature Dior’s gorgeous new mini clutch featuring three eye shadows and 2 lip glosses. The lip glosses are in their own section under a gold lift-up door, so they don’t get the powdery eye shadow in them, clever, right? Look out for it as Saks Fifth Avenue this Fall, retail price $80.
Fall looks:
Schoolgirl (pg. 85) The Look: blazers, skirts, coats, sweaters with a classic preppyish look but with a modern twist to keep them current. Some examples…
Nightcap Clothing’s Patch V-Neck Tee, $154
Alice + Olivia Plaid Shorts, $198
Army (pg. 86) The Look: rugged dresses and jackets, lug sole boots, dog tag necklaces.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Uniform Cotton Dress, $298
Gucci Dog Tag Necklace, $275
Boxy Hand Held Bags (pg. 88) The Look: squarish or rectangle shape bags with top handles.
Nine West Plain Jane Flannel Satchel, $89
Classic Example: Louis Vuitton Speedy 30, $690.
Ankle Boots (pg. 90) The Look: straps, zippers, platforms, open toes, cut-outs (variety!)
Giuseppe Zanotti Ankle Boots, $488
Charles by Charles David Ankle Boot, $144.95.

When I was browsing for my post yesterday I ran across a Charles David shoe that has basically knocked off the Louboutin Simple 100 pumps exactly, except for the red sole of course… they wouldn’t have the gall to do that! I’m not sure how I feel about it. In a way it’s totally lame for Charles David to have done, but at the same time it’s just great to be able to get the same look for a lot less…
This is the very classic Louboutin Simple 100 Pump, $595.
I have these. I got mine back in Spring ‘08. They are light as a feather and beautifully made (in Italy).
I’d have to see the Charles Davids in person to see how they really compare, but they have certainly done a good job in copying the exact shape of the shoes. I doubt they are made as well… they are made in Spain though, which frankly I am impressed about that. Many shoes are being made in China now… even the $350 Marc Jacobs ballet pumps I posted about yesterday are made in China!
Charles David Cheri Pump, $160.
